At Turner Public Schools, we take pride in offering a variety of clubs and programs for our 7th-12th grade students, including FFA, National Honor Society, DC Club, Pep Club, Yearbook, and Student Council. These opportunities go beyond the classroom, helping students develop essential life skills, build confidence, and form valuable connections. Through participation, students learn leadership, teamwork, and responsibility—qualities that will serve them well in the future. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and effort our students put into both their academics and extracurricular activities, shaping them into well-rounded and successful individuals.

T-Mates: Big Kids, Little Buddies, Loads of Fun (and Life Lessons, Too!)
Some of the most meaningful moments at school happen outside the classroom—like during T-Mates, a Pep Club-led program that pairs elementary students with junior high or high school buddies for monthly activities and crafts.
This April, our older students got busy hiding eggs all over the playground for an epic Easter egg hunt—then joined their younger T-Mates to search for the goodies together. It was egg-stra fun for everyone!
But T-Mates is about more than just crafts and candy. It helps younger students build confidence, feel supported, and connect with positive role models. Older students gain leadership skills, learn patience, and experience the joy of mentoring. It’s a win-win, and one of the ways we make our school community feel like a big family.

History in Action: Helena Legislative Trip
In April, students had the opportunity to step out of the classroom and into the heart of Montana’s government during our Legislative Trip to Helena—a special experience that takes place once every four years! Led by History Teacher Mr. Neill and retired History Teacher Mrs. Mohar, students explored the Capitol building, toured the beautiful Cathedral of St. Helena, and even met with legislators, including Governor Greg Gianforte.
This trip gives students a first-hand look at how state government works and brings history to life in a way textbooks never could. It helps them better understand civic responsibility, strengthens their communication and social skills, and inspires many to stay engaged in their communities.
We are SO PROUD of our students—not just for what they learned, but for how they represented our school. During the trip and in the days that followed, we received numerous compliments from people around the Capitol City about how polite, well-behaved, and sharply dressed our students were. They truly made a lasting impression and showed what our school community is all about!

From Field to Freight: Follow the Grain Heads to Portland
In April, students from Turner Public School wrapped up Phase Two of the Follow the Grain Program, brought to us by Shandel Fouts from Columbia Grain, with a trip to Portland, Oregon.
After two years of learning about grain marketing—calculating costs, projecting profits, and understanding contracts—students had the chance to watch their own grain being unloaded and shipped overseas. They visited export terminals, trade centers, and grading facilities, seeing firsthand how their efforts impact the global agricultural supply chain.
This program equips students with valuable skills for their future as farmers, helping them better understand the industry and preparing them for success in the world of agriculture.
